STABLES

INFORMATION
Everyone needs a place to lodge their horse - to have them groomed, fed, treated, and otherwise cared for in their absence. Likewise, horses who are new to the state often have to be stored somewhere, before being transported to their new riders. Therein lies the purpose of a stable.

Stables are considered "light" versions of horse ranches, without the extra responsibilities and more freedoms.

BLACKWATER LIVERY STABLE | CLOSED
The Blackwater Livery Stable is as old as the city itself - built from the bones of the old, community storehouse, the history of the place is long and fruitful, and to this day it stands as a pillar of the boom-town. Having changed hands over a dozen times in its lifetime, the possibilities for the Livery's future are boundless.

Sporting a large, open layout with a number of stalls, as well as a dedicated area for the storage of tack, supplies, and goods, Blackwater Livery Stable makes up for what it lacks in intricacy in space and functionality.
ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES
Players who own and operate Blackwater Livery Stable are not required to abide by any firm guidelines or rules - the location may be operated and maintained to the satisfaction of the owning stablemaster.

RHODES STABLE | OPEN
Rumor has it that, originally, the Rhodes stables were simply built as an extension of the 'manor', by which it rests. The location, after all, would make quite a deal of sense. But as of the 1860s, the place was considered public property of the town, and by the 1880s it had transitioned to the ownership of the bank.

The building itself is small and ragged, sacrificing internal space for vast fields and paddocks to allow the horses on.
ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES
Players who own and operate Rhodes Stable are not required to abide by any firm guidelines or rules - the location may be operated and maintained to the satisfaction of the owning stablemaster.

THEODORE ECKHART STABLE | OPEN
When he arrived home to Saint Denis in 1821, Theodore Eckhart was little more than a small-time lawyer, returning from his study out of state. The long-time equestrian would, in time, serve as one of the most influential mayors to the city. Though the stable itself had been opened since 1811, the location was renamed in honor of the mayor who left a mark on the city's culture and laws - shaping it into the place it is today.

This spacious, gilded stable comes with ample room and boarding for horses, clean facilities, and a separated office and reception room for clients to enter.
ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES
Players who own and operate Theodore Eckhart Stable are required to abide by a few firm rules in line with its general lore and history. Due to its location, Theodore Eckhart Stable must be portrayed as a semi-high society stable - while owners may provide lesser-quality horses, a focus should be put on the raising of fancy show breeds.

THIEVE'S LANDING STABLE | CLOSED
Originally, the stable was just a place for weary travelers to leave their horses - shelter from the rain or sun, a place to get food and water and rest while their riders handle business both legitimate and illicit. It was never meant to be a business - no indoor facilities, no larger training grounds. But everything in Thieve's Landing is at least a bit shabby, so the location fits right in.

With a large central field and a number of smaller stalls, there is not much in terms of exceptional facilities - the bare minimum is the way here.
ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES
Players who own and operate Thieve's Landing Stable are required to abide by a few firm rules in line with its general lore and history. Due to its location, Thieve's Landing Stable must be portrayed as something of a horse-fence rather than a standard stable. The place is historically latino-owned, and special consideration will be given to latino applicants.

VALENTINE STABLE | OPEN
Valentine Stable was built in 1842, by one Amos Levi and his three sons. Levi, a farrier by trade, had serviced the area since he was a just nineteen years of age - and by the time he had the aid of his children, the family business expanded into a stable and smith. A strong necessity on the New Hanover frontier.

The stable itself is spacious, with a large core room, a few stalls to the side for day-to-day auctions, and a small training yard just in the back. The small forge rested just to the side of the main building, offering a good place for a farrier to ply his trade.
ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES
Players who own and operate Valentine Stable are not required to abide by any firm guidelines or rules - the location may be operated and maintained to the satisfaction of the owning stablemaster.
